Killer Lists And Links

Some Of My Favorite Blogs

May 20, 2009 by Bruce Prokopets

Marketing.OriginalSignal– A great collection of marketing blog feeds. The best thing is you can see the most popular posts. You can also widgetize the feed collection (or "signal" as they call it) and even grab a link to the mobile version. Or just subscribe to the feed of the signal.

CoBrandit– I love this vlog. Why these guys arent part of Podtech I dont know. Lots of great coverage of marketing and advertising events. As well as some great interviews. Below is a list of fav links from coBrandit…

  • Interview with Alex Bogusky of CP+B discussing why "different" is the new "better".
  • Interview with Geno Church on a social media campaign for a scissor company!
  • Interview with Steve Rubel (when he was still with CooperKatz)
  • Interview with Charles Rosen of Amalgamted discussing client engagement

Links Zoho Notebook is the newest offering from the web based office uber-suite Zoho. This thing is pretty cool. You can create a vritual notebook with different elements from simple notes to audio snippets and collaborate in realtime.

If you missed the DEMO conference you didn’t get to see the demo of Total Immersion (video). This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Basically, you can put 3D object inside live video. You just have to see the demo to really get it.

Another great DEMO presenter was VuVox. Forget YouTube and Photobucket slideshows, you gotta see how VuVox mashes your media up into an interactive embeddable player. Way more "fun" than Splashcast.

HotelsByCity is building a travel based blog network. They are looking for bloggers. You get 70% rev share from ads.

Guy has a great list of 10 stupid ways to hinder market adoption. Must Read.

Street marketing campaign gets mistaken as a bomb planting terrorist plot, all of Boston goes on lockdown. What were they marketing?? A cartoon.

Here’s a list of the best link directories with a pagerank, saturation, and cost breakdown.

MarketingSherpa and Ad:Tech released their report for best and worst online marketing tactics. MarketingVOX has the breakdown.

Vlogger Loren Feldman of 1938media goes on a curse filled rant about social media and the wisdom of crowds. The comment thread is the highlight.

Excellent post and discussion about the death of organic SEO and the relevancy of paid listing.

Jason Calacanis and Mike Arrington are planning a new DEMO-style conference giving the opportunity for tech start ups to pitch FOR FREE!

Inside Adwords– adwords quality score update. They also added a "quality score" column in adgroups to see the quality of your keywords. Very awesome.

NIN Web Trail– Industrial band Nine Inch Nails quietly launched a pretty complicated promotional campaign for their new record "Year Zero". T-shirts sold on the current tour have an encrypted message on the back which leads to IAmTryingToBelieve.com, a website with a very disturbing vision of the future. But that is only one site out of a cast of "web characters" that support the theme of the new album. There is also AnotherVersionOfTheTruth.com, BeTheHammer.org, ChurchOfPlano.com, and all the weird stuff interlinked between them. Very interesting marketing strategy.
